The ENGINE occupational health team lead supervises a team of occupational health specialists and provides technical expertise on health standards and hazard communication.
Responsibilities of this role includes implementing occupational hygiene processes, auditing performance, coaching team members, and supporting safety compliance and business unit projects.
Additionally, the position requires managing product stewardship, regulatory tracking, and hazard assessment, while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders regarding safety data sheets and regulatory updates..
Key Responsibilities.
Supervise a team of occupational health specialists and provide technical expertise and guidance on health topics such as best practices and interpretation of occupational hygiene and hazard communication (HAZCOM) standards.
Provide guidance and coordinate team to implement and manage the Occupational Hygiene (Industrial Hygiene) Process and OH Programs to recognize, eliminate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases.
Audit performance against requirements and recommend practical corrective actions or solutions.
Coach, mentor, and establish clear expectations and performance standards for direct reports to build Occupational Health organizational capability.
Support business unit (BU) coordination of turnaround and project resources.
Define Occupational Hygiene objectives, strategies, and goals for business planning.
Provide counsel and support for safety and health compliance concerns, including appropriate management and workforce engagement.
Strengthen the execution of product stewardship in the organization by continuing building fluency and developing tools that support PS performance improvements.
Track and monitors safety related product specific regulations and assesses the impact for the business.
Develop and implement Product Risk Reduction (PRR) plans.
Work with various business functions to proactively manage the product quality and regulatory issues arising in the markets.
Provide hazard assessment and classification data of chemical products, including regionally correct advice on labelling and storage requirements.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding SDS content, regulatory requirements, and updates.
Maintain SDS Management system for new chemicals & after verifications, audits, requests related to chemic/al products.
Required Qualifications.
Bachelors degree in industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or related field.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in industrial hygiene or occupational health.
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential or equivalent certification preferred.
Knowledge of product regulations and standards in the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of applicable company and regulatory industrial hygiene standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Ability to support and manage the Occupational Health processes and programs at multiple locations.
Experience in leading or participating in cross-functional teams and projects related to occupational hygiene, safety, and health.
Strong communication, coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills to build Occupational Health capability and performance across oil and gas operations.
Candidate may be required to travel 10-15% annually.
