Job Title: Senior General Manager Admission

Location: Chandigarh University, Chandigarh, India

Job Summary:

The Senior General Manager – Admission is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire admissions process, developing and implementing effective admission strategies, and ensuring the enrollment targets are met. The role demands a proactive approach in managing relationships with prospective students, parents, educational institutions, and other stakeholders while maintaining high standards of process excellence and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive admissions strategy in line with the university’s growth objectives.
    • Set annual enrollment targets and devise action plans to achieve them.
    • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adapt admission strategies accordingly.
  • Admissions Management:
    • Oversee the entire admissions lifecycle—from inquiry to enrollment—ensuring an exceptional candidate experience.
    • Implement and optimize processes, tools, and technologies to streamline admissions operations.
    • Analyze admission metrics and prepare regular performance reports for senior management.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate the admissions team, ensuring effective performance management and professional growth.
    • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance team skills and knowledge.
    • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, coaching centers, and other educational consultants to boost lead generation.
    • Represent the university at education fairs, seminars, and community outreach events.
    • Work closely with academic and marketing teams to ensure a unified approach to student recruitment.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure adherence to university policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards in all admission practices.
    • Review and update admission procedures regularly to maintain process efficiency and transparency.
    • Handle escalated queries and issues with professionalism and prompt resolution.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Background:
    • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Education Management, or a related field. An MBA from a reputed institution is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in admissions management or higher education administration.
    • Proven track record of achieving enrollment targets and managing large teams.
    • Experience in strategy formulation and execution in an academic or education-focused organization.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical abilities and data-driven decision-making skills.
    • Proficiency in using CRM systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Achievement of annual enrollment and revenue targets.
  • Efficiency and turnaround time in the admissions process.
  • Candidate satisfaction ratings and quality of the enrollment process.

  • Reporting Structure: The Senior General Manager – Admission will report directly to the Director/Vice President of Admissions or the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
