Designation: Head/Director Alumni Relations
Position Overview:
The Director or Head of Alumni Relations is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing programs and initiatives that engage and connect alumni with the university. This role involves building strong relationships with alumni, creating opportunities for their involvement, and driving strategies to increase alumni participation and support for the university.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that aligns with the university mission and goals.
Set clear objectives for alumni relations programs and assess their effectiveness.
- Plan and coordinate alumni events, including reunions, networking events, chapter meetings, and professional development activities.
- Manage alumni communication channels such as newsletters, social media, and email campaigns and inform them about the news and achievements
- Lead alumni-focused fundraising campaigns and initiatives, including annual giving programs and major gift solicitations.
- Create and manage programs that provide benefits to alumni, such as career services and mentorship opportunities, and develop initiatives that enhance alumni involvement
- Promote university achievements and alumni success stories and utilize marketing strategies to highlight the value of alumni participation and support
- Work with university departments, such as admissions, career services, and academic departments, to support alumni-related initiatives and leverage their expertise.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by alumni in a professional and effective manner.
- Prepare reports on alumni engagement activities, participation metrics, and fundraising outcomes and evaluate the success of alumni programs
Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of experience
- MBA/or any postgraduate course
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and proficiency in data management and analysis.
- Understanding of higher education environments and alumni relations best practices.
