Position Description
A DB2 Admin L2 (Level 2) typically handles more advanced tasks and provides support for complex issues that cannot be resolved by Level 1 support.

Responsibilities:

Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain DB2 databases.


Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficient operation.


Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to protect data.


Security: Ensure database security by managing access permissions and implementing encryption.


Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks and errors.


Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and standards.


Capacity Planning: Plan for future database growth and scalability.


Technical Support: Provide advanced support for database-related issues and collaborate with other IT teams.



Requirements:

Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience with IBM DB2 database administration.


Skills: Proficiency in SQL, JCL, Perl, and shell scripting.

Experience with DB2 diagnostic tools and performance tuning.


Knowledge: Strong understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and capacity planning.


Education: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is often preferred.


Certifications: Relevant certifications in DB2 or database administration can be advantageous.
