Business Procurement Leader

We are looking for Dy. Manager / Manager - Business Procurement leader for our Switchgear Business.

Role & responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing

• Develop and implement robust sourcing strategies aligned with the business goals of key units such as Switchgears
• Drive Make-or-Buy analysis to optimize procurement decisions for cost and efficiency.

2. Cost Optimization

• Lead initiatives to achieve significant cost reductions while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Focus on optimizing procurement for runners and high-runners, ensuring competitive pricing and value addition to secure margins for the products.

3. Supplier Relationship Management

• Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with Tier 1 suppliers, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Manage relationships with local suppliers (Tier B and C), leveraging their capabilities for operational excellence.

4. New Product Development (NPD)

• Drive end-to-end procurement support for NPDs, including initial design decisions, Make-or-Buy analyses, and proto development.
• Consolidate business with strategic suppliers to maximize reuse of components and ensure alignment with sustainability objectives.

5. Quality, Value, and Efficiency (QVE)

• Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to create a funnel targeting 2-3% annual productivity gains.
• Evaluate opportunities for component standardization and value engineering to drive efficiency.

6. Risk Management

• Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to supply continuity, compliance, and quality.
• Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA preferred.
• Minimum 12-15 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in managing large procurement budgets (500 Cr+).
• Deep understanding of the electrical equipment industry, including switchgear and related products.
• Strong background in strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and supplier relationship management.
