Job Description
- A Senior Data Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining robust data pipelines that facilitate the efficient flow of data across systems.
- They work with large and complex datasets, ensuring data quality and accessibility for analytics and business intelligence purposes.
- This individual will work closely with application, Database, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and manage scalable and high-performance data processing systems that can support the growing needs of an organisation's data infrastructure
- Analytics Services : Define and manage analytics services and platforms, including reporting, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis. Ensure timely delivery of actionable insights to stakeholders. Monitor KPIs and performance metrics related to data analytics.
- Data Analytics Strategy and Architecture : Develop and execute a robust data and analytics (D&A) strategy aligned with organisational goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data and analytics requirements, standards, and best practices. Architect data and analytics solutions that enable efficient data collection, storage, retrieval, and utilisation.
- Data Engineering : Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing data. Optimise ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data quality, reliability, and performance. Work with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Bigquery, Redshift).
- Data Security and Compliance : Implement and maintain appropriate security measures and access controls to protect sensitive data stored in the cloud database. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry best practices.
- Data Integration Services : Work on data integration services and delivery. Platforms include Managed File Transfer, Application integration and API Management.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with Team and Management to deliver long-term strategic goals for data architecture - create, prioritise, and effectively deliver the vision.
- Design, develop and promote data strategy, architecture, methodologies, and standards for modern platforms.
- Create, maintain and define Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models for various projects using relational theory and dimensional modelling
- Drive business impact with efficient data pipeline management, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Deliver exceptional business value by enhancing data pipeline performance, ensuring timely orchestration, and upholding data governance.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage and analytics.
Qualifying skills
- 3-5 years of experience in Data and Analytics.
- 3-5 in Data Management tools and technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, Bigquery, etc.), Informatica, Analytical tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Tableau, PowerBI, QuickSight)
- 1-3 years experience working with large dataset / large scale projects and experience with Cloud Data Management and analytic solutions
Desirable :
- Deep familiarity with retail data, data cataloguing and organising data using multi-dimensional analysis.
- Experience in the design and implementation of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Dataflow), and modern data warehouse tools (Redshift, Bigquery)

- Willing to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, Strong visual presentation skills.
- Flexibility to communicate effectively with various levels of management.
