DESIGNATION / TITLE: DGM-Plant Operations

LOCATION: Sricity

OBJECTIVE:

To achieve the Production Goals/Targets as per the business plan within the cost, quality and timelines such that sales is not affected because of product un-availability because of production.(Sricity)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Production Planning based on Sales forecasts. Prioritization and planning of the production according to Sales orders.

- Draw up a production schedule to optimize on production costs

- To plan budget for production and ensure production follows as per thebudget.

- Ensure that the factory has the necessary resources in terms of manpower, quality and quantity, systems, technology, information, materials and equipment to meet the business objectives and uninterrupted production Developing a Production Resource Requirements Plan.

- Plans, develops and establishes the policies and practices related to manpower, machines and materials to all production activities.

- Define the cost of processing after factoring the fixed and variable costs and recommend efficiency improvements.

- To Plan Production meetings both pre-production & during actual production.

- Providing vision, leadership and direction for manufacturing activities, ensuring execution of the jobs within cost and schedule constraints.

- Direct responsibility for preparation, approval and control of annual plant budgets.

- Directly ensures production on schedule in accordance to the Quality Standards at the lowest possible cost with the highest quality and within safety norms.

- Ensures the flow of procurement of materials is timely undertaken and no delays are caused because of non-availability of the raw materials.

- Coordinating with Purchase on supply of material.

- Ensuring production processes meet customer/sales demands and are executed to ensure the quality of deliverable products.

- Mobilizing resources during peak season and additional manpower to ensure support to sales

- Ensure appropriate certification standards are maintained for the machinery and plant including safety measures

- Ensure that capacities and resources are optimally used to achieve a cost advantage and manufacture profitably.

- Define the good manufacturing practices for the client and systematic improvements in the present processes including development of new processes.

- Intensively work on the weak areas and bottlenecks of our present processes and recommend improvements including their impeccable execution.

- Develop review systems to ensure effective manufacturing and avoid last minute crisis

- Managing the mix between manual processes and automation based on commercial feasibility.

- Reducing wastage and lowering cost of production by bringing in productivity improvements.

- Develop and track improvement in reduction of planned Overtime hours.

- Ensure quality of the products-RM/PM and quality checks at different stages of production.

- Developing quality systems and processes. Adopt best practices in manufacturing and GMP

- Quality improvement processes including ISO implementation, Kaizen and Kanban, 5S, OHAS

- Improving and ensuring safety at the plant

- Conducting Safety audits and safety drills.

- Regular Maintenance of tools and machinery including the upkeep of moulds. Maintenance of equipment and spares

- Preventive Maintenance and periodic shutdowns.

- Ensuring that production is not held up because of maintenance related issues.

- Coordinating with manufacturers and service providers for upkeep of the machines and maintenance contract servicing.

- Timely calibration of equipment

- Ensuring that every operator in the plant is responsible for preventive maintenance

- Overseeing the infrastructure of new plants including building and civil works.

- Responsible for all status Analysis & Reporting to Internal Stakeholders.

- Create and oversee Budget and Schedule.

- Management of working capital in coordination with Finance and through proper estimation and forecast.

- Ensuring Cost Reduction, Optimization and Standardization.

- Develop and implement accurate documentation processes.

- Monitor the documentation process followed in the team.

- Implementation and compliances with all Quality Standards required by ISO & other certifications.

- Estimating costs and setting the quality standards.

- Managing local bodies including power supply boards

- Managing Factory Inspector

- Certifications and Test certificates

- Overall responsibility to interact with all external parties to the plant such as local government agencies, legal agencies, local media and interest groups

- Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.

- Ensure implementation and evolution of safety procedure.

- Building effective team which includes recruitment of capable staff

- Maintaining the peace and order at the plant and industrial relations

- Managing attendance, discipline and punctuality

- Performance review of the Team-Overseeing and Effectively Monitoring the team

- Training & Development of team

COMPETENCIES:

TECHNICAL:

- Production techniques-batch processing, continuous processing etc

- Production processes involved in HDPE, PP and other plastics etc

- Selection and understanding of choosing moulds and mould designs

- Knowledge of production and processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.

- Production Planning and Forecasting

- Well - versed with MS office and other digital applications
