Lead and manage the design and development team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to engineers and designers.

Design & Development:
Oversee the design, prototyping, and development of new products or manufacturing processes to improve plant efficiency and product quality.
Manage the design and development of tools, fixtures, and equipment to support production operations.
Coordinate with the R&D, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of new designs into the manufacturing process.
Project Management:
Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for design and development initiatives, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful implementation of new products and processes.
Lead cross-functional project teams to bring new products from concept through to commercial production.
Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes through design improvements, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
Collaborate with plant operations to improve existing product designs and manufacturing workflows.
Implement and manage process changes effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and plant-specific safety guidelines.
Drive the adoption of best practices for product development, risk management, and quality control.
Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to identify and resolve product defects or design-related issues.
Cost Management & Budgeting:
Develop cost estimates for new designs and modifications to existing products or processes.
Work with the finance department to create budgets for development projects and ensure adherence to financial targets.
Collaboration & Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external partners (e.g., suppliers, contractors) involved in design and development activities.
Present regular updates on the status of projects to senior management and other stakeholders.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments, including production, quality, and supply chain.
