Key Responsibilities:
Data Pipeline Development
Build, optimize, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process large volumes of network KPI data in real-time and batch modes.
Integrate data from multiple sources, including OSS (Operational Support Systems), RAN (Radio Access Networks), and telemetry logs, into centralized data platforms.
Automate data validation and transformation processes to ensure high data quality and integrity.
Collaboration with Data Scientists
Work closely with data scientists to prepare datasets, define data models, and deploy machine learning models for predictive analytics.
Enable efficient access to clean, enriched datasets for model training and evaluation.
Partner with analytics teams to implement model outputs into operational workflows, ensuring actionable insights for network management.
Technology Evaluation and Implementation
Stay updated on the latest big data, AI/ML, and data engineering technologies to assess their applicability to 5G cellular data challenges.
Prototype and implement tools and frameworks that enhance data pipeline performance and scalability (eg, Apache Spark, Kafka, or Flink).
Drive adoption of cloud-native services (AWS, Azure, GCP) for data processing, storage, and analytics.
Data Governance and Security
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations such as GDPR, CPNI, and local telecom policies.
Implement robust security and access control measures to protect sensitive network data.
Performance and Cost Optimization
Optimize database queries, storage systems, and processing workflows to handle petabyte-scale data efficiently.
Monitor and reduce infrastructure costs by leveraging serverless and cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Data Engineering, or a related field. (A Masters degree in a related field, is an added bonus)
Proficiency in Python (preferred), or Java for data processing and automation.
Strong SQL skills for querying and managing relational databases and time-series databases.
Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, or Flink.
Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including services like S3, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks.
Solid understanding of 5G cellular KPIs and telecom concepts such as RSRP, SINR, QoS, and handover success rates.
Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow or Prefect.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with time-series databases (eg, Druid, Prometheus, InfluxDB) and network telemetry data formats.
Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB.
Knowledge of AI/ML model deployment workflows and MLOps tools (eg, MLflow, TensorFlow Serving).
Certifications in cloud services, big data, or telecom analytics.
