Role - IT Passive Infra Lead

Responsibilities

The IT Passive Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the passive infrastructure of an organization's IT network. This includes designing and implementing physical infrastructure such as cabling, racks, and enclosures, as well as ensuring that the infrastructure is properly maintained and upgraded to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Cabling and Wiring: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network cables, including Ethernet, fibre optics, and other types of wiring.
2. Data Centre Setup: Design and set up physical spaces for servers and network equipment, ensuring proper cooling, power distribution, and cable management.
3. Rack and Stack: Install servers and networking equipment in racks, ensuring they are securely mounted and properly connected.
4. Infrastructure Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of physical network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, cable layouts, and infrastructure changes.
6. Compliance and Standards: Ensure that installations meet industry standards and regulations, such as TIA/EIA standards for cabling.
7. Collaboration: Work with network engineers and IT professionals to support the installation and troubleshooting of active network components.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure design and implementation.
• Strong understanding of passive infrastructure design principles.
• Familiarity with network protocols and architecture.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure design and implementation.
