Roles and responsibilities:

  • Procurement Management:
    • Oversee and manage the complete procurement cycle for raw materials, components, and services essential for manufacturing.
    • Ensure cost-effective, timely, and quality procurement of materials in line with project specifications and production schedules.
    • Utilize ERP software (Micro-Nav will be the added advantage) to create, track, and manage purchase orders, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
    • Continuously evaluate and monitor suppliers to maintain a competitive advantage in pricing and quality.
  • Vendor Relations:
    • Identify, evaluate, and develop long-term relationships with reliable suppliers and service providers.
    • Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and project requirements.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and maintain an up-to-date vendor database within the ERP system.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Ensure that stock levels are optimized, and materials are ordered proactively to prevent production delays.
    • Manage purchase requisitions and orders, ensuring appropriate stock is maintained while avoiding overstocking or shortages.
  • Cost Management and Budgeting:
    • Analyze procurement costs and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.
    • Track and report on expenditures, assisting in budget management and forecasting for upcoming requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
    • Collaborate with the engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth and efficient procurement of materials that meet technical and quality standards.
    • Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete for compliance and auditing purposes.
  • Data and Reporting:
    • Regularly update and maintain procurement records and reports within ERP, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.
    • Provide insights and reports on supplier performance, material costs, and procurement trends to management.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with Cavotecs policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
    • Conduct quality checks and resolve any issues with purchased goods to maintain product standards.

Qualifications and Experience:


Bachelors degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

7-10 years of experience in procurement or purchase management, preferably in an engineering/manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP software for procurement management, Good Knowledge in MS-Office.

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Good understanding of procurement processes, inventory control, and supplier management.

Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.

Fluent in English and Tamil. Hindi is preferable.
