General Manager-Refurb and Quality

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end operations of the Refurb division, ensuring smooth and efficient refurbishing of vehicles within set timelines and quality standards.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of 50-60 employees, including technicians, supervisors, and support staff. Develop a high-performance culture through continuous training, motivation, and performance evaluation.
• Process Excellence & Cost Efficiency: Identify, implement, and maintain best practices to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and reduce operational costs. Focus on process improvements and innovations to increase efficiency and achieve profitability targets.
• Project Management: Take ownership of key projects related to the refurbishment process, from inception through execution, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Manage resources, timelines, and stakeholder communication effectively.
• Quality Control: Ensure all vehicles meet the companys stringent quality standards before they are sent to customers. Address quality issues proactively and work closely with the quality control team to improve refurb processes.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and customer service to ensure smooth operations across the board. Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute the strategic direction for the Refurb team.
• Performance Reporting: Monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) and ensure that goals and targets are met. Provide regular updates to senior management on performance, challenges, and achievements.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: 5-10 years of experience in the automotive sector, preferably with a background in manufacturing, operations, or refurbishing. Exposure to operational functions in large-scale environments will be an advantage.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage large teams (50-60 people), driving engagement, productivity, and accountability. Experience in coaching and mentoring staff to achieve personal and team goals.
• Education: A graduate degree from a reputed Tier 1 or Tier 2 engineering or MBA school. An educational background in engineering or business management is preferred.
• Start-up Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in start-ups, where adaptability, quick decision-making, and a hands-on approach are key. Experience in scaling operations in a start-up environment will be highly valued.
• Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
• A keen eye for process optimization, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage change effectively.
• Project Management: Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely and successful delivery. Strong project management skills, including resource management, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
