Fabrication Supervisor Be Mechanical

Responsibilities:

• Supervise fabrication operations , ensuring that all fabrication processes are carried out according to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage a team of fabricators and technicians, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure effective production and adherence to deadlines.
• Plan and schedule daily fabrication tasks , coordinating with other departments (e.g., production, quality control) to optimize workflow and meet project timelines.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of fabrication equipment and machinery, overseeing preventive maintenance schedules and repairs as needed.
• Monitor and inspect fabrication work to ensure that materials and finished products meet design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Review technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate interpretation of design requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues , addressing problems related to quality, efficiency, or machinery malfunctions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all fabrication processes to minimize accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain accurate records of fabrication work, including work logs, inspection reports, and material usage.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that fabricated components are designed for manufacturability and meet customer or project requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels for materials and ensure that sufficient stock is available for fabrication tasks.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the fabrication department to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Assist with cost estimation for fabrication projects, providing input on material requirements, labor needs, and production timelines.
• Conduct performance evaluations for fabrication staff, offering feedback, training, and opportunities for professional development.
• Ensure that fabricated products are delivered on time and meet all client or project expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a fabrication environment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes , including welding, cutting, bending, and assembly techniques.
• Familiarity with CAD software and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, CNC operations, and quality control.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the fabrication and manufacturing industry (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
• Strong understanding of materials properties and how different materials behave under fabrication processes.
