Customer Support Specialist

The R&D Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all R&D activities are aligned with quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves reviewing development processes, conducting audits, and performing tests to ensure that new products, formulations, or technologies meet the required quality benchmarks before transitioning into production. The R&D QA Specialist will work closely with the R&D team, regulatory departments, and production to ensure a smooth transition from development to market-ready products.

• Quality Assurance in R&D Processes:

  • Ensure all R&D activities adhere to internal and external quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures specific to R&D projects.
  • Participate in R&D project planning to integrate quality control and risk management strategies early in the development process.

• Product and Process Testing:

  • Review and analyze test results from product development phases to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform quality testing on prototypes and final R&D deliverables, including physical, chemical, or performance testing based on the product type.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to design experiments that will validate product quality and safety.

• Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure that proper documentation is maintained for all R&D quality processes, including test plans, validation reports, and compliance audits.
  • Prepare and present reports on product quality, testing results, and potential quality issues to stakeholders.
  • Document and track deviations from standards and recommend corrective actions.

• Compliance and Regulatory Support:

  • Work closely with regulatory teams to ensure R&D efforts comply with industry regulations, such as FDA, ISO, or other relevant standards.
  • Support R&D in regulatory submissions by providing quality-related documentation and data.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and quality standards that impact the R&D process.

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve R&D quality processes, reduce defects, and enhance product safety and performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to share best practices and lessons learned from previous R&D projects.
  • Implement quality control strategies to reduce risk and improve efficiency during product development.

• Audits and Inspections:

  • Conduct internal audits of R&D activities to ensure adherence to quality management systems and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with external audits by regulatory agencies or customers to ensure compliance with applicable quality and safety regulations.

• Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Engineering, Life Sciences, Chemistry, or related fields).

• Certifications: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or other related certifications are a plus.

• Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably within a research and development setting.
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, FDA, or industry-specific guidelines).

• Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Total Quality Management (TQM).
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools for quality testing (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Knowledge of relevant testing equipment and software for physical, chemical, or performance testing.

• Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing quality issues.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Experience in a specific industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food, or chemical industries) where R&D and quality assurance are closely integrated.
• Experience in handling regulatory submissions or working with regulatory agencies.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and how they relate to quality assurance in R&D.
