Position Overview:
The SAP S/4HANA FICO Conversion Consultant specializes in the migration and conversion of legacy SAP ECC systems to S/4HANA, focusing on Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. This role involves assessing existing processes, preparing data for migration, configuring S/4HANA functionalities, and ensuring a smooth transition. The consultant collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver a successful system conversion that aligns with business objectives. Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Planning:

   • Analyze the existing SAP ECC system landscape and identify gaps, dependencies, and customizations in FI and CO modules.
   • Define conversion strategies, including greenfield, brownfield, or selective data transition approaches.
   • Develop a detailed conversion roadmap and timeline in collaboration with project stakeholders.

2. System Preparation:

   • Conduct pre-conversion system checks and readiness assessments using SAP tools such as the Readiness Check and Simplification List.
   • Configure and optimize the system for S/4HANA compatibility, including activating the New General Ledger if required.
   • Collaborate with the BASIS team for technical system preparation and upgrades.

3. Data Migration:

   • Plan and execute data migration activities, including mapping, cleansing, and validating financial and controlling data.
   • Perform migration using SAP tools such as Migration Cockpit, Data Services, and Conversion Cockpit.
   • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of master and transactional data in the new system.

4. Configuration and Testing:

   • Configure S/4HANA FI functionalities, including general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), asset accounting, and financial reporting.
   • Configure S/4HANA CO functionalities, such as cost center accounting, profitability analysis, and internal orders.
   • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate the system.

5. Integration and Reporting:

   • Ensure seamless integration with other modules (SD, MM, PP) and external systems.
   • Set up S/4HANA-specific reporting tools such as Fiori apps and Embedded Analytics.

6. Training and Documentation:

   • Provide training to end-users on new functionalities and changes introduced during the conversion.
   • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including process changes, configurations, and migration steps.

7. Post-Go-Live Support:

   • Provide support during and after the go-live phase, resolving issues and ensuring a stable environment.
   • Monitor system performance and optimize configurations based on business feedback.

8. Compliance and Continuous Improvement:

   • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies during the conversion.
   • Stay updated on S/4HANA innovations and recommend process improvements to leverage new functionalities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of SAP ECC and S/4HANA FI/CO modules, including configuration and migration processes.
  • Experience with S/4HANA tools such as Migration Cockpit, Simplification List, and Readiness Check.
  • Familiarity with new S/4HANA functionalities, including Universal Journal, Margin Analysis, and Central Finance.

• Project Experience:

  • Proven experience in SAP system conversions (brownfield projects) or greenfield implementations.
  • Understanding of data migration tools and methodologies.

• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong ability to analyze legacy processes and recommend optimized solutions for S/4HANA.
  • Troubleshooting skills to address technical and functional challenges during migration.

• Communication and Collaboration:

  • Excellent communication skills to work with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end-users.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular project updates.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
• SAP S/4HANA certification in Finance or Controlling.
• Experience with SAP Activate methodology and Agile project management practices.
• Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other financial reporting standards.
• Familiarity with tools such as SAP Fiori, Embedded Analytics, and Central Finance.
