Job Description

Fulltime, Permanent About the Role:

At C4Scale, we are seeking passionate engineers to build a scalable platform and migrate large workloads across multiple cloud environments.

You will work in the group that owns, improves, and manages engineering productivity across the board and are responsible for the pillars of technology, science, and strategy across engineering, powering over 500+ microservices, leveraging cutting edge technology in cloud computing managing real time high throughput systems with a wide range of programming stack.

You are expected to join in August

What You Will Do:

Cloud Migration: Lead the migration of large workloads from existing cloud environments to new cloud providers, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.

Build and manage a highly scalable, reliable, and cost-effective application infrastructure, forming the backbone of diverse distributed systems.

DevOps Practices: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes, enhancing the speed and reliability of software delivery.

Configuration Management: Utilize tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar for infrastructure as code to automate and manage cloud resources efficiently.

Monitoring and Logging: Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of the migrated workloads using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.

Security and Compliance: Ensure that the migration process adheres to security best practices and compliance requirements, implementing necessary controls and audits.

Technical Excellence: Be a role model in technical excellence, helping engineers deliver top-quality applications without worrying about the underlying infrastructure.

Continuous Improvement: Enhance code quality and product performance through continuous improvement and innovation.

Collaboration: Collaborate and communicate effectively with teams across multiple geographies, ensuring smooth integration and operation of cloud services.

Knowledge Sharing: Share your knowledge and expertise to strengthen the team s understanding of the platform so they can support themselves.

Refactoring: Regularly refactor your work to maintain high-quality design and architecture, following industry best practices.

What You Will Need:

At least 3 to 7+ years of relevant experience being a DevOps Engineer.

Expertise in any one hyper-scale (AWS/AZURE/GCP), including basic services like networking, data and workload management.

Experience in automating Infrastructure using any of ( Terraform /pulumi/cloudformation), write modules, setup pipeline and version the code.

Extensive Kubernetes experience or Ansible Experience (GKE or EKS or AKS), basics like pod, deployment,networking, service mesh . Used any package manager like helm .

Prior experience with Grafana stack, Cortex, OpenTelemetry, SLI/SLO platforms is a plus

Good experience in GIT , SVN or any other code management tool is required.Experience in any one of the CI/CD tools (Gitlab/Github/Jenkins) including runner setup, templating and configuration.

DevSecops tools like (Qualys/SonarQube/BlackDuck) for security scanning of artifacts , infrastructure and code.

Scripting experience (Bash/python), automation in pipelines when required, system service.

If you have worked in GCP

Networking: VPC, VPC Peering, Firewall, Flowlogs, Routes, Static and External IP Addresses.

Data: Cloud Storage, DataFlow, Cloud SQL, Firestore, BigTable, BigQuery.

Workload: GKE, Instances, App Engine, Batch, etc

If you have worked in AWS

Networking: VPC, VPC Peering, Transit Gateway, RouteTables, SecurityGroups, etc

Data: RDS, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch.

Workload: EC2, EKS, Lambda, etc

If you have worked in Azure

Networking: VNET, VNET Peering

Data: Azure MySQL, Azure MSSQL, etc

Workload: AKS, VirtualMachines, AzureFunctions

Optional

Experience in any programming language is not required but is appreciated.

Preferred Qualifications / Added Advantage:

Prior experience in Cloud Migration

Relevant cloud certifications (eg, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert)
