Job Description

Unique Logistics International is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Ocean Freight Sales Support Specialist with a strong background in export pricing. This role involves providing essential sales support, developing competitive pricing strategies, and ensuring smooth coordination between customers, carriers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, a deep understanding of ocean freight pricing, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Support & Customer Engagement

  • Assist the sales team in responding to customer inquiries, preparing quotations, and following up on sales leads.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing prompt and accurate information on ocean freight services.
  • Analyze customer requirements to propose tailored ocean freight solutions, enhancing customer satisfaction and retention.

2. Pricing & Quotation Management

  • Develop and prepare competitive pricing proposals for ocean freight services by analyzing market trends, carrier rates, and customer needs.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers, shipping lines, and vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Maintain an updated database of carrier rates, surcharges, and service schedules to ensure timely and accurate pricing information.

3. Market Research & Analysis

  • Conduct research on market trends, competitor pricing, and industry developments to provide insights that support sales strategies.
  • Monitor fluctuations in freight rates, surcharges, and fuel costs, adjusting pricing strategies as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to the sales team on market conditions and rate changes to stay competitive.

4. Coordination & Operations Support

  • Coordinate with the operations team to ensure accurate and timely booking of shipments based on agreed rates and customer requirements.
  • Oversee the end-to-end process of ocean freight shipments, from booking to delivery, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, tracking performance metrics, and assisting in sales forecasting.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in ocean freight, sales support, or pricing roles within the logistics industry.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a deep understanding of ocean freight pricing and market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in using logistics software (e.g., CargoWise, SAP) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Language: Proficiency in English; knowledge of regional languages is an advantage.
