Electrical Engineer - Food & Beverage - GFS

Burns & McDonnell India (BMI) Global Facility Services (GFS) Division is looking for a well-rounded and  driven Electrical Engineer in the Mumbai Office. The GFS Division focuses on fast moving Food &  Beverages, Consumer Goods Facilities, Life Science and Technology Facilities, Data Centers and  Commercial Facilities which offer a wide range of design and project execution experiences. Equipment  includes rotating machines, such as generators and motors, large power transformers, generator circuit breakers, isolated phase bus duct, non-segregated phase bus duct, switchgear, motor control centers,  small power transformers, AC/DC UPS, Soft Starter and variable frequency drives. The wide range of  projects provide opportunities on both multi-discipline and electrical only projects. 

Multi-disciplined projects require engineers to work in a diverse project team environment and exhibit the ability to develop consensus in identifying the optimum solution to complex problems. These  complex assignments require the application of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of  new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. Position will require extensive  interface with Burns & McDonnell project manager, other engineering disciplines, modelers, designers,  and detailers locally in the Mumbai office as well as remotely in various offices in the United States.

• Key Responsibilities:  o Responsible for analysis and design of various electrical systems for industrial facilities  including but not limited to power systems, lighting, grounding, and lightening protection  systems.  o Work with a Senior electrical engineering in supporting design activities on the project.  o Preparing detail design calculations report and review of detail drawings and layouts.  o Responsible for sizing of electrical equipment, cable sizing, cable tray sizing and layouts.  o Engage in performing power systems studies as per the requirements of the client(s).  o Capture client requirements and if needed, advise them regarding electrical  systems/requirements available to meet their needs and comply with safety codes.  o Coordinate with other disciplines, client(s) and other stake holder(s) to develop a clash free  system design. o Responsible for managing the assigned scope within agreed schedule, budget and complying  with agreed project quality norms.  o Manage a team of engineers and designers working on a project.  o Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and  organization.  o A committed team player able to work on own initiative.  o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  o Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate  work. 

• Tools:  o Experience with lighting design software like Dialux or Visual.  o Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote  o Knowledge or experience working with one of the power system design tools ETAP or SKM is  an additional advantage.  o Experience of exposure to 2D Engineering tools like AutoCAD 2D  o Experience of exposure to 3D engineering tools like Navisworks, AutoCAD Plant 3D, REVIT  etc. is an additional advantage

 General Requirements:  o Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from accredited program or a recognized  institution.  o Minimum 3-5 years of related experience.  o Experience in detailed engineering of commercial & industrial facilities including high  voltage and low voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, electrical equipment  control, protective relaying and associated systems design and design of electrical room.  o Field construction and commissioning experience is not a must but a plus.  o Previous consulting engineering experience preferred.  o Working knowledge of international codes and standards (IEC, NEC (NFPA 70), NEMA, IEEE  etc.) as applicable for industrial facilities.
