Senior Quality Engineer: To lead the operational performance of the Quality department, ensuring the successful delivery of business strategy, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives, whilst complying to customer requirements. To ensure the efficient and effective day to day running of the department. Sample Job Description for a Senior Quality Engineer: Support the companys Mission, Vision, and Values. Work closely with Engineering to ensure that designs meet applicable quality requirements. Plan and perform internal quality audits and execute action items. Lead quality initiatives, develop and facilitate quality teams. Provide quality function support by working closely with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to manage customer
relations, expectations, needs and satisfaction Independently drive and direct actions with departmental groups to maintain MRB and RMA issues. Drive key quality performance metrics: DPPM, OTD, Cost of Quality, Customer Scorecards, Internal Audit Risk and
Effectiveness, Supplier Performance, Contract Review. Detailed knowledge of aerospace quality requirements and specifications. Proven track record of partnering with manufacturing via applying Engineering and Quality expertise to improve quality,
reduce cost, improve lead-time and drive efficiencies. Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate on technical
topics. Extensive experience with root cause analysis and corrective action. Knowledge of auditing AS9100D/ ISO 9001:2015 quality standards. Capable of reviewing and interpreting drawings, contracts / POs, and applicable processing standards. Proficient in the use of digital/analog measuring instruments, e.g., micrometers, calipers, linear and dial gauges, height
gauges, and a visual comparator. Skilled at performing First Article inspections. Monitoring all Quality Assurance systems to ensure compliance with Customer requirements. Maintaining a Quality Risk Management system to ensure that risks are adequately controlled. Acting as the main point of contact on all Quality matters, internally and externally.. Ensuring that all activities are performed in accordance with QMS. Ensuring that there is an internal audit programme in place which is communicated to Operations. Ensuring that the supplier and subcontractor audits are performed and reported against schedule. Ensuring that the Quality department meets targets (KPIs). Providing direction and guidance to the Jr. Quality team.
Education And/or Experience Required:
Good understanding of the Aerospace and Defence market. Wide experience and knowledge of customer / governing body audits including NADCAP. Strong leadership/team management skills and experience. Calm, credible and confident communicator at all levels with first class presentation skills (written and verbal). Strategic thinker with the ability to influence at a senior level. Ability to prioritise, demonstrating good time management skills. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a busy, pressured and demanding environment. Minimum 7+ years of experience in similar role
