We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in the engineering or construction sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships, and driving revenue growth. This role requires a strong understanding of the industry, strategic planning skills, and exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify Opportunities: Research and identify potential business opportunities, projects, and markets in the engineering or construction sectors.
- Client Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure long-term business partnerships.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to prepare technical and commercial proposals, tenders, and bids tailored to client requirements.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and stay ahead in the competitive landscape.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop strategic partnerships and alliances with other companies, contractors, and suppliers to expand the organization's reach and capabilities.
- Sales and Revenue Goals: Achieve and exceed sales targets by closing profitable deals and contracts.
- Presentations and Meetings: Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders, clients, and management teams.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and pipeline, and present regular progress reports to management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with engineering, project management, and other departments to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience: Proven experience (2+ years) in business development, sales, or a similar role in the engineering or construction industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering or construction processes, technologies, and market trends.
- Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Networking: Extensive network of industry contacts and the ability to build and leverage professional relationships.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM tools, project management software, and other relevant technologies.
- Results-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to meet targets and drive growth in challenging environments.
