Project Manager (Banking)

Brickendon Consulting have existing projects with a number of global banks and have been engaged to provide teams of Project Managers to deliver large scale transformation change initiatives for our tier one banking clients.

Role & responsibilities

Project Management:

• Manage end-to-end banking transformation projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables to align with organizational strategy.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address project challenges.

Migration Process Oversight:

• Lead the migration of banking systems, applications, and data with minimal disruption to operations.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop and implement migration strategies and roadmaps.
• Ensure accurate data mapping, validation, and reconciliation during migration.
• Monitor post-migration performance and address any issues promptly.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Serve as the primary liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
• Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to communicate project progress and gather feedback.
• Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure all migration processes comply with relevant banking regulations and standards.
• Work closely with compliance teams to address regulatory requirements during transformation projects.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and implement best practices in project management and migration methodologies.
• Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and minimize risks in future migrations.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience managing large-scale projects in the banking or financial services sector.
• Proven track record in managing system and data migration projects.
• Experience with core banking systems and technologies (e.g., Temenos, Finacle, FIS).

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of banking processes and regulatory frameworks (e.g., AML, GDPR, Basel III).
• Expertise in migration tools and methodologies.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, or similar platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Certifications (Preferred):

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
• Certifications in Agile or Scrum methodologies are a plus.
