Job Description
This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of AutoZones software systems and have the opportunity to shape the next generation technologies, work process and customer experience. This will own and drive large and complex, or multiple smaller efforts into production that have significant impact at enterprise level. Additionally, will be responsible for integrating AutoZone systems to third party vendor system to support operations from end-to-end . This includes applying domain knowledge, using technical skills, leading, and mentoring less experienced AutoZoners, supporting the customers, resolving problems and training as required.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Create, test and support software applications.
- Participate in design sessions with IT Architects and produce high- and low-level designs as necessary
- Collaborate with other engineers in the team to deliver new capabilities. Coach and mentor other
team members as needed. - Quickly and effectively troubleshoot problems in development and production environments.
- Responsible for others accurate work planning and execution, accurate project time tracking
- Review code and designs from other team members
- Provide suggestions on performance improvements of existing platform.
- Coordinate with product owners and business partners to gather requirements and document them as needed.
- Provide production support and being active team member of on-call rotation.
- Able to perform tasks with little or no technical supervision with solid problem solving, domain technical and analytical skills
Eduction and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Typically requires four to eight years of experience based on consistently demonstrated capabilities.
- 3 plus years of experience and expertise in Java development with additional experience in Spring Framework, and Spring Boot (3-7 years)
- Task estimation and planning skills
- Able to perform tasks with little or no technical supervision
- Experience using Relational Databases (ex. Oracle/Informix/SQL Server etc.) and writing SQL queries
- Must be a team player with great interpersonal and communication skills; time-management skills are critical
- Advanced expertise in at least one technical area
Nice to have
- Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in Bash scripting/Linux system administration
- Any search engine experience (especially Elasticsearch)
- Experience in Apache/Ignite technology like Apache Tomcat
- Experience working on GCP Cloud and APIGEE is a definite plus and good to have skill
