Job Summary

The Analyst, Legal Ops will be responsible for the collection, reporting, and analysis of the Legal Department metrics. Assists with analysis and forecasts of the Legal Department budget. The position will conduct detailed analysis, reporting, and may also lead process analysis and mapping for technical improvement projects within the Legal Department, as well as manage requests related to internal Legal Department software and technology.

Essential Job Functions

• Administer e-billing software including matter management, outside counsel billing, and liaise with Finance/Accounting regarding monthly spend.
• Develop and enhance department and practice group-level reporting from e-billing software and PeopleSoft related to the Budget, Accruals, Bank Board of Directors updates, litigation, and other ad hoc reporting. Creates and maintains key reports used to analyze case management. Provide analytics to Legal Leadership with regards to various practice areas related to outside counsel spend.
• Coordinates with the Legal Department Senior Leadership to drive and document the completion of scorecards and review of outside counsel, preferred counsel list, and onboarding of new outside law firms. Assist with and coordinate Outside Counsel Strategy.
• Administer technological tools for the department, consult with IT and vendors to attain department objectives, training of department team members.
• Proactively collaborates with business partners to establish effective relationships, with others to influence and create meaningful analysis for decision-making related to key Legal initiatives. This includes directly communicating and developing relationships with outside counsel billing administrators.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor s Degree Analytics, MIS, Accounting, or Finance or related field of study or equivalent relevant work experience
• 2+ years Experience using software such as advanced functions in Excel, SQL, etc. related to accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis and reporting.
