What You’ll Do
We are seeking a skilled and experienced VDI/AD Engineer for our VDI and AD environment (Globally) responsible for maintaining VDI profiles and controlling access to our AD environment within AWS. The VDI/AD engineer will be responsible for maintaining VDI profiles. The ideal candidate will possess good technical skills, relating to VDI and AD environments to ensure that are fully available and that authorized users have the access they require

Team collaboration:
· Maintaining VDI profiles
· Maintaining AD environment and access control
· Work with other engineering teams to ensure that VDI environments are always fully operational and available
· Work with Vodafone to ensure VDI service is always fully available
· Troubleshooting/resolving VDI and AD related issues both independently and with the support of other engineering teams
· Ensure compliance with security measures to protect the VDI environment
· Manage AD to ensure that only authorised users can access sensitive data
· Analytical mindset, problem solving skills and be detail oriented
· Knowledge of IAM concepts, protocols, policies, processes and technologies
· Follow process workflows outlined in documentation of the VDI and AD architecture, configurations and procedures
· Optimizing system operation and resource utilization
· Monitoring and taking remedial actions within the virtual and physical environments to ensure system availability
· Ensure the availability and reliability of VDI/AD services, including participating in standby/out of hours support as needed
· Operate within outlined SLAs to support business operations
· Familiarity with core IAM concepts, including the principle of least privilege, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Single Sign-On (SSO).
· Basic understanding of AWS IAM to manage roles, permissions, and policies for cloud resources.
· Exposure to ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems to track requests.
· Familiarity with basic on-premises Active Directory concepts.
Continuous Integration and Deployment:
· Identify opportunities to optimize VDI/AD process workflows and minimize any downtime
· Monitoring, triage and Incident Response of VDI/AD environments
· Monitor and take remedial action in response to monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues in VDI/AD environments
· Monitor performance and escalate any issues identified
· Maintain VDI profiles from a software and licensing perspective
Qualification & Experience
· Good technical skills and knowledge of VDI/AD
· Attention to detail, accuracy in managing IAM roles to avoid potential security risks caused by misconfigured permissions or incorrect group memberships.
· Effective communication skills to engage non-technical users, document solutions clearly, and collaborate in a team.
· Problem-solving skills to resolve access issues, investigate security incidents, and adapt to new IAM use cases.
· Analytical and problem-solving skills
· High degree of initiative and sense of urgency
· Very strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
· Experience using ServiceNow to handle access requests for Entra and AWS accounts.
· Provisioning accounts, assigning groups, and deactivating them when employees leave.
· Assign roles and permissions to ensure users are mapped correctly between Entra and AWS, following the principle of least privilege.
