Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager - ProductBuying/Merchandising to support the development and execution of buyingstrategies specifically for our Small Leather Goods category. This rolerequires expertise in market analysis, vendor management, and assortmentplanning, focused on creating a compelling range of belts, wallets, and otherleather accessories for men and women.
Responsibilities:
- Execute product development and buying strategies for the Small Leather Goods category, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and consumer trends.
- Identify and assess factories/vendors based on product quality, reliability, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Enhance product quality standards and develop new products that align with current market trends.
- Analyze consumer buying behaviors, study national and international trends, and forecast demand within the Small Leather Goods category.
- Manage product costing, negotiate terms with suppliers, and plan MRPs to meet optimal margin targets.
- Oversee the import verification process and coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for timely product delivery.
- Conduct range planning at category and sub-category levels in alignment with seasonal merchandising objectives.
- Review technical packs and set prices for each style, working to expand the product range and optimize profitability.
- Establish alternative sourcing strategies to minimize production costs and improve supplier diversity.
- Lead assortment planning based on data analysis and strategic insights, optimizing product selection across styles.
RequirementsPreferred Candidate:
- 4+ years of experience in buying and merchandising for Small Leather Goods.
- Bacheloror Masterdegree from NIFT, FDDI, or an equivalent institution.
Required Skills:
- Strong leadership skills and vendor management expertise.
- Proficient in creating business plans and category management.
- Analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
