About this role:
- As Corporate Communications Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our products and services through strategic media planning and initiatives that deliver brand visibility, reputation, and thought leadership.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traditional media relations, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of securing media coverage and managing public relations campaigns.
Key responsibilities:
1. Earned Media Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive earned media strategy to increase brand visibility and enhance its reputation in the financial services industry.
2. Press Release Management: Draft compelling press releases, media pitches, and other written materials to announce key initiatives, accomplishments, thought leadership insights, and industry news.
3. Media Outreach: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, media planning and execution agencies and relevant influencers to secure media coverage and interviews for the firm's executives and subject matter experts.
4. Media Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks, and provide regular reports and analysis to senior management.
5. Crisis Communications: Develop and implement crisis communication plans and protocols to effectively manage and mitigate reputational risks in collaboration with senior leadership and legal/compliance teams.
6. Event Management: Support the planning and execution of press conferences, media briefings, industry conferences, and other events to promote the firm's brand and thought leadership. Ensure consistency in messaging and brand positioning across all media and communication channels.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, compliance, legal, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and integration of media relations efforts with overall marketing and communication strategies.
Key skills and experiences:
- MBA / Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in media relations, public relations, or corporate communications, preferably in the financial services industry, preferably asset management or wealth management sector.
- Proven track record of securing high-impact media coverage and managing successful public relations campaigns.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and messaging for different audiences and platforms.
- Strong media relations network and relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers in the financial and business media.
- Crisis communication experience and ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Proficiency in media monitoring and analysis tools/software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
