Key Responsibilities:

1. Herbal Extraction:
• Operate and monitor extraction systems (e.g., solvent extraction, steam distillation, cold pressing) to extract active compounds from plant materials.
• Prepare raw materials (plant materials, solvents, and additives) for extraction processes.
• Maintain appropriate conditions (temperature, pressure, flow rates) for optimal extraction yield and quality.
• Monitor extraction processes to ensure desired product specifications are met.
2. Quality Control & Monitoring:
   
• Regularly inspect and test herbal extracts for quality, potency, and consistency.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Document all production activities and maintain accurate logs of processes, quality checks, and inventory.
3. Maintenance & Equipment Handling:
   
• Ensure proper maintenance and cleaning of extraction machinery and equipment, following company and safety protocols.
• Perform minor troubleshooting and repairs on extraction equipment, escalating issues to management as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
4. Compliance & Safety:
   
• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations when handling plant materials, solvents, and other chemicals.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and health regulations (e.g., GMP, FDA, USDA, or other certifications specific to herbal production).
• Conduct regular safety checks and ensure the safe operation of extraction processes.
5. Process Improvement:
   
• Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency, yield, and quality of extracted herbal products.
• Work collaboratively with the production team and management to improve overall production workflows.
6. Record Keeping & Documentation:
   
• Maintain accurate production logs, inventory records, and batch documentation.
• Document the parameters of each extraction process and the final product specifications for future reference.
7. Collaboration & Communication:
   
• Work closely with other departments such as Quality Control, Research and Development, and Packaging to ensure a smooth production process.
• Report any production issues, deviations, or accidents to the supervisor in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Herbal Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field (preferred).

Experience in herbal extraction processes (Min 3- 10 years) or a related manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards in herbal product production is a plus.
