Summary: The Database SME will be responsible for the overall management, optimization, and performance of enterprise-level Oracle, MSSQL, and MongoDB databases. This role requires deep technical expertise across multiple database platforms, with a focus on performance tuning, high availability, security, and automation . The SME will play a key role in database migration projects, capacity planning, and implementing best practices to ensure database scalability and reliability. The ideal candidate will work closely with business development, solution architects, and technical teams to craft compelling database solutions and strategies for potential clients. This role requires a unique combination of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and experience in responding to RFPs and other client-facing documentation. Key Skills and Experience Requirements: 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Database design & planning. Expertise in Oracle (11g/12c/19c), MSSQL Server (2012/2019/2022), and MongoDB Enterprise/Community Editions. Strong experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management. Analyze RFP requirements to develop tailored database solutions for Oracle, MS SQL, and MongoDB. Prepare technical content for RFPs, including architecture diagrams, implementation strategies, and solution descriptions. Collaborate with pre-sales and proposal teams to create winning responses that meet client needs Contribute to Statement of Work (SOW) and other contractual documents with accurate and precise database-specific inputs. Ensure all technical documentation aligns with compliance and regulatory standards. In-depth knowledge of HA/DR solutions: Oracle RAC, MSSQL Always On, MongoDB replica sets/sharding. Proficiency in migration tools (Oracle Data Pump, SSMA, MongoDB Compass/Mongo mirror). Experience in backup & restore strategies using RMAN, SQL Server native backups, and MongoDB snapshots. Hands-on experience with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Shell for automation. Strong understanding of cloud database solutions: Azure SQL, AWS RDS, MongoDB Atlas, or GCP Cloud SQL. Experience in migrating databases to cloud platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members. Key Responsibilities: Manage, configure, and optimize Oracle, MSSQL, and MongoDB database instances. Perform routine health checks, maintenance, and upgrades to ensure database availability and reliability. Conduct in-depth performance analysis to identify and resolve slow-running queries, indexes, and resource bottlenecks. Optimize database configurations, query execution plans, and schema design for Oracle, MSSQL, and MongoDB. Design and implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies for Oracle RAC, MSSQL Always On, and MongoDB replica sets. Ensure databases are resilient and recoverable with appropriate backup and recovery plans. Lead database migration projects from on-premises to cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cross-platform migrations. Upgrade databases to the latest versions, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. Automate routine database tasks using PowerShell or Python or Shell scripting. Develop scripts to monitor database health, automate backup/restore processes, and perform housekeeping tasks. Implement database security best practices, including user access control, encryption, auditing, and patch management. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Set up advanced monitoring tools for Oracle (OEM), MSSQL (Performance Monitor, DMVs), and MongoDB (Ops Manager, Atlas). Troubleshoot issues related to database performance, replication, and connectivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, infrastructure, DevOps) to support database requirements. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including database architecture diagrams, SOPs, and incident reports. Preferred certification (if Any): Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate MongoDB Certified DBA Good to have skills: Experience with NoSQL databases beyond MongoDB (e. g. , Cassandra, Redis) & PostgreSQL database.
