Position Overview:

The Team Leader - Operations will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team in a manufacturing and recycling plant environment. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, hydraulic machines, and cranes, combined with excellent leadership and operational management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

• Distribute workload efficiently across the team for 3-shift operations.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws and company safety standards.
• Enforce group safety standards within the plant.
• Monitor truck and crane permit validity and ensure compliance.
• Communicate safety-related incidents or dangerous situations to management.
• Oversee the quality of work and assist workers in complex tasks.

Operational Management:

• Control the quality of production and recommend improvements for productivity.
• Organize different stages of the production process.
• Ensure the achievement of production targets in terms of volume (tonnage).
• Verify equipment consignment and manage equipment maintenance.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Manage relationships with external service providers, including safety protocols and prevention plans.
• Monitor order progress and deliveries, ensuring on-time fulfillment.
• Maintain cleanliness and order within the plant.
• Inform management about operational dysfunctions and corrective actions.

Client Relationship:

• Participate in internal audits and prevention plan formulation.
• Understand client requirements and contribute to business relationships with the ordering client.
• Promote a positive company image and ensure timely processing of scrap.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Conduct safety induction training for employees to promote awareness and avoid unsafe practices.
• Provide operational training to reduce errors, improve productivity, and maintain quality.
• Perform routine field inspections and plan for load and 5S activities based on client requests and yard conditions.
• Conduct random checks to identify and control violations.
• Prepare process-related documents such as check sheets, breakdown reports, and spare consumption reports.
• Maintain spare parts inventory, ensure the condition of parts, and manage third-party certificate compliance.
• Raise RFQs and follow up with vendors for on-time delivery.
• Plan logistics and dispatch operations.
• Manage production and maintenance schedules.
• Step in for machine operations during manpower shortages.
• Plan and prepare documents for maintenance activities, including routine and preventive maintenance planning.
• Ensure safety requirements as per client site policies, preparing for safety audits and audits of the processes.
• Plan and implement countermeasures for near misses, incidents, and accidents.
• Oversee the preparation of audit point closure and documentation.
• Provide suggestions (kaizens) to improve safety, productivity, and quality.
• Develop standards, systems, and documentation for various operational and safety procedures, such as low-to placard layouts, emergency evacuation plans, risk assessments, and training materials.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Educational Qualification: Mechanical Engineering degree with strong knowledge of hydraulic machines and cranes.
• Experience: 9-10 years of industry experience, particularly in handling teams, production planning, safety training, client handling, logistics operations, and maintenance activities.
• Key Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Knowledge of machine maintenance, particularly hydraulic machines and cranes
• Expertise in production planning, maintenance, safety protocols, and training
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills

Compensation:

• CTC: 8 Lakh INR per annum
