UK Accountant (Bookkeeping and Management Accounts )

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Candidate to oversee and manage the Month/Year End closure, invoice processing, monthly journals, and reconciliations. This is a crucial role that demands strong leadership, in-depth financial expertise, and a focus on process management and service delivery excellence. Responsibilities:

• Mentor and train juniors to enhance their skills and contribute to their professional growth through effective reviews of their work and detailed feedback.
• Support senior leadership by providing accurate annual reporting, monthly trackers, and staff efficiency matrices.
• Manage the entire Month/Year End closure, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Responsible for the accurate preparation and posting of various journals, including accruals, prepayments, VAT, Forex, and other necessary adjustments
• Handle ledger accounts, monitor invoices, and track payments, resolving any discrepancies as they arise.
• Prepare reconciliation statements and conduct variance analysis. Provide commentary on movements in account balances.
• Perform inter-company and supplier reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
• Post year-end adjustment journals to ensure proper accounting for the financial year.
• Prepare, investigate, and reconcile discrepancies in VAT returns.
• Resolve queries from U.K office and collaborate with them to obtain necessary information to meet deliverables
• Utilize accounting tools and software to enhancing efficiency and accuracy
• Take ownership for the development of staff within the department.
• Set an example to junior staff by conducting yourself in your presentation and work to the highest standard.

Software Proficiency: Proficient in using accounting software, including Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Datamolino.
