The client is seeking for resources with expertise in financial statement preparation as per US GAAP, who can work remotely in either the US or UK time zone.
Duration: 6 Months contract based, extendable
Primary Responsibilities :
- Prepares financial results, analysis, and recommendations.
- Prepares and submits actuals (i.e. 'ownership' of financial data)
- Ensures financial compliance with statutory requirements (legal and tax), corporate policy, and audit requirements, including audited financial statements and footnotes as required.
- Liaises with internal and external professional advisors (banks, tax, accounting, audit, legal etc.) to transact complex business on behalf of the company.
- Together with Legal, reviews sales and vendor contracts to ensure compliance with financial policies and proper accounting treatment.
- Participates in and coordinates the development of local and corporate financial policies and procedures.
- Researches and/or assesses the financial implications of business opportunities and risks.
- Oversees the development and operation of financial systems and/or processes.
- Coordinates finance activities, providing guidance and recommendations to finance team(s).
- Performs other projects and transactions as required by management and business needs.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manages capital, cash flows, and royalties, including analysis of future financial performance and cash/capital adequacy.
- Provides detailed regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Conducts in depth analysis and presents findings to management - KPIs/Business knowledge
- Coordinates or participates directly in the annual external audit.
- Prepares and/or reviews US GAAP and statutory financial data (financial statements) for designated entities.
- Reconciles local statutory accounting to US GAAP accounting.
- Supports information requests both internally and externally for compliance and operational effectiveness.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Breadth of knowledge across tax, audit, treasury, financial analysis & reporting, information technology, legal, business, and operational areas
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills applied effectively to a multi-national environment/audience
- Ability to make formal presentations to management
- Strong software tool skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, general ledger package(s), financial reporting tools, data analysis software, and data management tools
- Ability to understand and interpret financial/performance data in a multi-currency environment
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), local statutory differences, and tax impacts of both
- Ability to research technical issues and document conclusions
- Basic understanding of legal contracts and concepts and ability to apply to tasks
- Strong internal control knowledge for both systems and processes
- Basic project management skills
- Leadership skills
- Ability to guide various accounting functions and ensure transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Ability to interact with management and customers normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company; often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team
Education: CPA/CA
Experience:
- Typically requires a minimum of five years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a large multi-national corporate environment. Previous audit experience desirable.
