Safety

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate Project Head & other team members to ensure implementation of Company safety & health management system.

2. Facilitate Project Head to ensure implementation of BOCW Act & Rules and other OHS legal requirements.

3. Prepare monthly safety activity planner based on site activities and ensure all activities are conducted accordingly.

4. Ensure compliance & maintain legal register and conduct scheduled inspections through safety first portal and monitor the compliance.

5. Facilitate project team to ensure implementation of contract safety rules and regulation as per Contract Documents.

6. Ensure Work Permit-SOP is implemented strictly and all concerned personnel are appropriately trained to follow the permit system.

7. Organize and conduct safety kick-off meeting for all new Contractor(s) along with HO safety to educate contractors on site safety & contractual requirements.

8. Ensure qualified and experienced safety resource(s) as prescribed in Contract are deployed by contractors.

9. Facilitate contractors to ensure implementation of site safety infrastructure as per BE contractual requirements.

11. Review adequacy of firefighting facility and ensure quarterly mock-drill.

12. Review PPE matrix, quality of PPE, 25% buffer stock and ensure awareness and usage.

13. Ensure compliance system of fall protection including Identification of safety material for fall protection measures like hard barricades, railings, shaft gates, MEP cut-outs covers, safety nets, fall grab arresters & lifelines etc.

14. Monitor and ensure that the electrical safety system is strictly functional - ELCB, overload protectors, earth pits testing schedule & register.

15. Conducting safety campaigns as per HO safety directives.

16. Ensure implementations of all learnings related to incidents shared by HO through PMC and Contractor.

17. Escalate the repeated / unresolved issues to HO safety for resolution.

Preferred candidate profile:

Minimum 7-10 years experience in construction safety sector.

Duties: as laid down in Schedule VIII of BOCW Central Rules.

Degree or diploma in engineering or technology.

Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (one-year duration) from State Board of Technical Board & AICTE approved and recognized under State Factories Rules / BOCW Central Rules or Diploma in Construction Safety.
