Senior Engineer Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Introduce new technology to enhance the quality and productivity of the overall process.
• Keeping abreast of industry innovations, tools and software to determine applications at Biorad.
• Evaluation of the existing processes and applying the required techniques relating to tooling, programming, production processes to ensure the simplification of the process as well as reduction in through put time in all stages of production.
• Enhance the existing processes or New Process establishment & Process Optimization on existing components to improve the productivity.
• New Product & Part development along with defining the process.
• Mediator between the Research and Design team & Production.
• Responsible for Prototype design and Development, Development trials on Pilot batchs & conduct the production trial runs.
• Handover the developed parts with all the necessary documents like. Handover documents, Inspection reports, Detailed drawing, Process flow, FMEAs, Process studies, Controlled CNC program, work instructions etc.
• Provide On Job trainings to operators related to new products and take Periodic reviews.
• Prepare training calendar for new development product and provide necessary trainings.
• Calculate product cost & cost optimization for existing products & process.
• Develop the product with CAD/CAM software.
• Development of New tools and tool life monitoring.
• Designing of New fixtures for new development products, Generate New Ideas & implementation.
• Machining cycle time Monitoring and improvement projects.
• Perform Process Validation and Prepare reports accordingly.
• SOP writing as a when required, along with required attachments.
• Design Qualifications (DQ) of the Products and Hand over the DQ for further process.
• Determine set up wise work procedure and process sheet for Cutting Parameters and cycle time with Target for CNC Operator.
• Active Participation in process improvement and Provide suggestions to team.
• Provide solutions to the production team regarding fixture & tooling.
• Identifying projects related to productivity improving and implementing the same.

Preferred candidate profile

• Excellent communication skills to maintain smooth coordination with Design & QC team for new development, and finalization of product, with the Raw and FG store to prepare the production plan.
• Coordinate with Purchase team for procurement of raw material, Gauges, tooling's etc.
• Communicate part manufacturing planning & Machine availability with production with team to achieve the targeted result.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with different departments like Supply chain, Quality, Design, Purchase and Human Resource in the organization.
• Should be result oriented during work
• Team management skills and excellent supervising abilities to motivate staff & team of workers.
• Positive & Proactive approach toward work
• Initiative to new ideas and Collect the Ideas from team for continual improvement process.
