Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Department (HOD) for Biology to lead our biology curriculum development and implementation at BSL. The HOD will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality Biology content and experiments that align with our vision of providing innovative and effective science education.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive biology curriculum that meets the educational standards and learning objectives set by BSL.
Ensure that the curriculum is engaging, interactive, and accessible to students with diverse learning needs.
Create engaging and interactive biology content, including lectures, experiments, and assessments.
Use innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance the learning experience for students.
Design biology experiments that are safe, effective, and aligned with the curriculum objectives.
Ensure that experiments are accessible to students and can be conducted with the available resources.
Provide training and support to Biology JRs to ensure that they are equipped to deliver the curriculum effectively.
Mentor and guide JRs to improve their teaching skills and techniques.
Monitor the quality of biology teaching and learning at BSL.
Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to ensure that the curriculum meets the desired outcomes, working closely with the Q&A Team at BSL
Manage the resources allocated for biology education, including equipment, materials, and budget.
Ensure that resources are used effectively and efficiently to support the curriculum delivery.
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to integrate biology education with other subjects and learning areas.
Work closely with the research team to incorporate the latest scientific advancements into the curriculum.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master s degree or higher in Biology or a related field.
Candidates from Bio-Technology backgrounds can also apply, if other criteria are satisfied.
At least 5 years of experience in teaching biology at the high school or college level.
Strong knowledge of biology concepts and principles. First principle thinking & Synthesis based mindset Experience in curriculum development and content creation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
