Mechanical Design cum Procurement Engineer - 6 months

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for assisting in Machine design as well as development and procurement of the designed components.

Criteria

• Tamil speaking candidates only.
• BE/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 6-month temporary position with the potential for extension or permanent placement.

Skillset

• Expertise in quick and accurate 2D CAD drafting
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Fluent in Tamil communication.
• Prior work experience in material procurement / inventory management
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as turning, milling, CNC, and laser cutting

A. Design Works

• Convert 3D model into detailed fabrication drawing
• Creationg of assembly drawing and assembly instructions
• Sheet metal drawing layout and nesting for laser cutting works.
• Add proper GD&T and machining instructions
• Modification of existing drawings and maintain proper verisons.
• Reverse engineer drawings by taking accurate measurements.

B. Procurment Works

• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and define machining process flow.
• Send the machining drawings to machine shops and subcontractors.
• Follow up vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of components.
• Develop and implement assembly checklists for fitters/fabricators
• Work closely with the assembly team to ensure successful project completion

Interview Process

The selection process includes a phone interview, followed by an in-person tests to evaluate the candidate's desgin skill and procurment expertise.
