About the Role :

The Senior Jira Engineer will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our Jira instance to support project management and operational efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of Jira administration, scripting, and integration, as well as experience with Agile methodologies and compliance frameworks.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities :

- Jira Administration & Customization : Serve as the primary administrator for our Atlassian Jira instance, including workflow design, field customization, user management, and plugin administration.

- Scripting & Automation : Develop and maintain Jira scripts using Groovy, JavaScript, Java, and JQL to automate processes, create custom reports, and enhance Jira functionality.

- Integrations : Integrate Jira with other tools and systems as needed, ensuring seamless data flow and efficient workflows.

- Compliance & Best Practices : Ensure Jira configurations and processes adhere to relevant compliance frameworks, such as ASPICE and Automotive SPICE, and industry best practices.

- Agile Support : Support agile teams by configuring Jira for Scrum and Kanban methodologies, creating dashboards, and providing training on Jira usage.

- Training & Documentation : Develop and deliver training materials and documentation for Jira users, ensuring they can effectively utilize the system.

- Problem Solving & Support : Troubleshoot Jira issues, provide technical support to users, and proactively identify areas for improvement.

- Continuous Improvement : Identify and implement innovative solutions to optimize Jira performance, enhance user experience, and streamline workflows.

- Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored Jira solutions.

Global Teamwork : Collaborate effectively with global teams, adapting communication styles and schedules as needed.

Technical Requirements :

Education : B.E/B.Tech/BCA/MCA/MCM/MCS/M.Sc.

Experience :

- 5-7 years of experience, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on Jira administration experience.

- Jira Expertise : Deep understanding of Jira administration, workflow customization, field configuration, user management, and plugin installation.

- Scripting Skills : Proficiency in Groovy, JavaScript, Java, and JQL for Jira scripting and automation.

- Integration Experience : Experience integrating Jira with other tools and systems.

- Compliance Knowledge : Familiarity with compliance frameworks like ASPICE and Automotive SPICE.

- Agile Methodologies : Basic knowledge of Agile frameworks, with practical experience in Scrum and Kanban.

- Project Management Tools : Familiarity with project management software (i.e. Microsoft Project, Confluence, or similar tools).

- Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
