The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility. This includes ensuring the production process meets customer demands, is efficient, cost-effective, and adheres to quality standards. The Factory Manager will lead and supervise the production team, optimize processes, and ensure safety and compliance within the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management:
Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure that production goals are met.
Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands and ensure on-time delivery.
Ensure the production process is efficient, cost-effective, and meets established quality standards.
Monitor production processes and resolve any issues or delays.
Manage production teams to achieve performance targets, including output, quality, and safety.
2. Production Planning:
Develop and manage detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
Coordinate production plans with manufacturing teams to ensure timely production of products.
Adjust production schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, material availability, and production capacity.
Ensure optimal inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
3. Quality Control:
Ensure all products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Implement and enforce quality control procedures to minimize defects and ensure consistency in products.
Conduct regular quality audits and ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary.
4. Process Optimization:
Identify areas for improvement in the production process and implement changes to increase efficiency.
Optimize resource utilization, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
5. Team Leadership:
Lead, train, and motivate production staff to achieve high performance.
Conduct performance appraisals and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
Ensure a positive, collaborative work environment and resolve any team-related issues.
6. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure all safety and health regulations are followed within the production environment.
Monitor and enforce adherence to company safety policies, environmental standards, and local regulatory requirements.
Ensure the proper maintenance and functioning of all production machinery and equipment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
8-10 years of experience in a Food manufacturing environment, with at least [5] years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of production processes, scheduling, and resource planning.
Proficiency in process optimization methodologies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Familiarity with production machinery and maintenance practices.
