Job Description
HSE & Site Services Specialist
JOB PURPOSE:
- Ensure effective implementation of HSE programs at the D x Raja ISPP Veg Seeds PS site and remote Veg PS production locations across India.
- Support implementation of South Asia HSE Management Systems programs conforming to OHSAS 18001 standards, Bayer Corporate requirements, Indian regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Manage location Site Services tasks including management of facility, security, fleet & CSR
YOUR TASK AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
HSE
- Manage HSE programs for the current ISPP and INOG D x Raja locations and related seed production areas
- Responsible to maintain site HSE emergency management, incident investigation, legal compliance, Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Assessment (JSA) & other site-specific programs.
- Ensure up to date HSE regulatory permits are in place. This includes all relevant air, water, wastewater, hazardous chemicals and solid/ hazardous/ biomedical/ e-waste/ plastic waste management and safety - construction and operating permits.
- Ensure site HSE program, system & documentation meets expectations of Bayer KR2055 requirements
- Conduct thorough HSE review of any new capital project for Appropriation Request (AR) approval in SAP. Work with site management to facilitate the implementation of contractor safety program
- Train employees and promote reporting of safety suggestions (SS), Near miss (NM), behaviour-based safety (BBS) observations in IT tool (Intelex) and support business to implement a corrective action plan
- Conducting internal HSE audits and support business to implement a corrective action plan
- Prepare and deliver safety training program as per company, regulations and ISO requirements.
- Coordinating with various HSE vendors - including monitoring and PPE suppliers, etc.
- Monitor performance and effectiveness of HSE programs. Analyze safety data and advise on appropriate measures to prevent new or recurring accidents.
- Do periodic inspection of site production labs and field operations
- Work with business to implement Road Safety and other off the job safety or relevant programs going beyond site legal requirements.
- Support human rights implementation in field production and support community outreach activities
- Collaborate with Hyderabad based HSE Manager to ensure consistent approach across India Veg and Row Crops Seeds sites. Work with and align with other South Asia HSE team members as required.
- To support South Asia/ IBSL organization to achieve HSE goals and audit other sites
Site Services
- Work with IFM partner and external service providers to ensure proper housekeeping, pest control, canteen operations, garden, landscaping and employee transportation.
- Ensure services related to stationary orders, Creche, Hotel Bookings, vendor invoicing processing, PR/POs, courier management and visitor management at site
- As part of Real Estate matters, obtain pahanis, payment of property tax payments, carrying out Govt survey related to site and represent to local govt authorities if needed
- Responsible for overall supervision & monitoring of Security, site access management , local desk & IT operations at D raja as per the service level agreement.
- Support site management and field production team in CSR activities, employee events and celebrations at the site
- Support to waste segregation and disposal in line with regulatory requirements and support sustainability initiatives
- Keep functional relation with all stakeholders.
- Ensure site contractors conduct all work safely and collaborate with site area owners and contractor representatives to ensure adequate supervision wherever required.

- Regionally Veg PS Leadership, ESG, LPC, Site Services, CFO Team
- Site LT
- Local Industry Associations, Regulatory Bodies and Industry partners, external vendors & contractors
WHO YOU ARE:
- Graduate degree (Bachelor of Science or Engineering preferred) and educational qualification in HSE
- 6- 10 years work experience preferably in reputed company setting.
- Willingness to acquire technical HSE & Site Services knowledge
- Knowledge of Indian HSE legislation (legal / company requirements) including but not limited to state Factories Rules, Air Act, Water Act, Environmental Protection Act and all related Rules.
- Strong interpersonal, initiative/ foresight and excellent written/ verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel 25% of work time
- Fluent in English and one major language of the region.
