Key skills for the job
Objectives of the position
Completing Physical Testing requests with available time and resources. Responsible for implementation of maintenance plans for Physical Testing Laboratory Complete exposure tests as per the work request submission with on time, on cost & on quality criteria. Coordinate with external suppliers and service providers to ensure all time availability of spare parts & consumables. Demonstrate skillful and effective interaction with vendors to install and upgrades as and when necessary. Smooth running of all Test equipment with minor maintenance /co-ordinating with OEM Maintain EHS standards as per site guidelines, Ensure implementation of all RC Practices and associated documentation. Maintain IATF 16949 quality requirements Provide skill-based support in day-to-day activities in physical testing labs and other arenas of facility Role & responsibilities
Completing the incoming test requests with available resources. Analyze different standard test methods as well as customized test protocols to deal with variety of customer test requests. Implement the preventive maintenance plan for testing services laboratory equipment. Train new Joinees in operating and maintaining the systems. Equipment trouble shooting Work with external service provider for new installations and service activity. Ensuring minimum down time for the lab equipment. Maintaining the efficiency of the DI water plant Individual contributor for testing of long-term evaluation properties like salt spray, humidity test, accelerated weathering and outdoor exposure etc. Coordinate with local and central procurement team for purchase of equipment spares and consumables. Ensure safe work practices in day-to-day laboratory activities by adhering to PPEs usage. Coordinate with BASF maintenance dept. for utility maintenance. Day to day co-ordination with other departments Implement & maintain 5S and good housekeeping.
EHS management:
Implement EHS procedures to maintain safe working environment that supports department activities. Conduct walkthrough and audits in department to ensure early identification of hazards and initiate timely corrective actions and preventive practices. Ensure that safe handling of hazardous chemicals, adherence to PPE usage of the lab personnel, and the Work Permit system is properly followed. Compliance of process safety and environment code as per BASF practice.
Preferred candidate profile
Minimum education and qualification required for the position Education: Bachelor degree in electrical/mechanical engineering Working Experience: 3-5 yrs of relevant experience Technical & Professional Knowledge: Experience in Equipment Maintenance. Exposure to chemical handling would be an added advantage
