Engineering Manager

Join us as an Engineering Lead. At Barclays, innovation isn t just encouraged; it s expected. You will be accountable for global engineering priority and product ownership of the object storage product portfolio. You will be responsible for global engineering standard, understanding industry trends, working closely with business partners, product management and operational customer to ensure products are easy to use, easy to understand, secure. You will be efficient to operate and take advantage of opportunities to automate and offer as a service or via infrastructure as code. You will be responsible to cover all locations where the product is consumed APAC, EMEA and US.

To be successful as an Engineering Lead, you should have experience with:

• Managing high-performance, globally diverse teams in a dynamic environment as a global unit.
• Knowledge or experience with storage technologies such as Dell/EMC VMAX, Power Max or Power Flex arrays.
• Pure Storage Flash Array/Flash Blade and Fusion Cloud workload placement.
• Cloud mobility, Storage gateway and automated data management products.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Knowledge off private and public cloud storage and data services. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to work in a globally distributed/diverse team of both colleagues and business stakeholders.
• Able to demonstrate a good level of ability in design, troubleshooting, documentation, product lifecycle, problem analysis / isolation, compliance and security.
• Desire to take end to end ownership of deliverables to our colleagues and business partners.

This role is based in our Pune office.

Purpose of the role

To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Accountabilities

• Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organizational objectives.
• Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.
• Mentor and support team members professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity.
• Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
• Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
