Role Overview:
- We are seeking an enthusiastic, goal-driven, and dynamic Merchant Acquisition Manager to join our rapidly growing team.
- The primary responsibility of this role is to drive the acquisition of new merchant partners for BANKIT's digital financial services.
- As the Merchant Acquisition Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the reach of our fintech services by establishing and managing relationships with key retail and business partners across India.
- Your goal will be to strategically grow our network of merchants, ensuring they are onboarded, trained, and fully enabled to offer BANKIT's suite of services such as money transfers, bill payments, insurance, and more.
- This position is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to financial inclusion efforts by connecting underserved communities with crucial financial services.
Key Responsibilities:
Merchant Acquisition & Onboarding:
- Identify, prospect, and onboard new merchant partners across various regions in India, including retail shops, kirana stores, micro-ATMs, bill payment agents, and insurance providers.
Relationship Management:
- Build strong, long-term relationships with merchants, ensuring ongoing support and training to maximize the uptake of BANKIT services.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet acquisition targets.
- Monitor performance and implement tactics to drive merchant growth across multiple service verticals (DMT, AePS, bill payments, etc.
Training & Support:
- Provide merchants with comprehensive training on the BANKIT platform, services, and operational procedures to ensure smooth onboarding and operational efficiency.
Market Research:
- Stay up to date on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to effectively position BANKIT's services in the market.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams (Operations, Product, and Customer Support) to ensure that merchant needs are met and the merchant experience is seamless.
Performance Reporting:
- Track and report on key performance metrics, including new merchant acquisitions, onboarding timelines, and merchant performance to senior management.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all onboarding processes, merchant contracts, and KYC documentation are completed as per company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Key Qualifications
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in merchant acquisition, business development, or sales, preferably within fintech, payments, or banking sectors.
- Proven track record of acquiring and managing merchant relationships and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of digital financial services, payment systems (DMT, AePS, Micro ATM), and the fintech ecosystem in India.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, from small business owners to corporate partners.
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
