Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for medical testing, transfusions, donations, or research. The Phlebotomist will ensure the highest standards of care and safety, maintain proper documentation, and follow established protocols for specimen collection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Ensure proper patient identification and label all blood samples accurately.
• Prepare and maintain all necessary equipment and materials for blood collection.
• Handle and transport blood samples to designated labs in accordance with safety protocols.
• Monitor patients during and after blood collection for any adverse reactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment.
• Follow strict infection control and safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination or injury.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient concerns and ensuring a comfortable collection experience.
• Keep accurate records of all procedures, patient information, and test requisitions.
• Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure samples are collected and processed timely for diagnostic testing.
• Assist in training and mentoring new phlebotomists or other staff members as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Phlebotomy certification from an accredited program preferred.
• Previous experience as a Phlebotomist or in a similar role is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict protocols.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to comfort and reassure patients.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and infection control practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist patients with mobility.
• Must be able to lift and carry medical equipment as necessary.
• Must have good manual dexterity for performing blood collection procedures.
• Must have bike or scooter

Work Environment:
This position will typically work in a clinical or hospital setting. The role may involve exposure to patients with varying medical conditions, so the ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high standard of professionalism is essential.
