PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Financial accounting

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements on a monthly basis.
• Provide accurate and timely financial information to management for decisioning
• Ensure regulatory compliances with respect to financial reporting
• Ensure quarterly statutory audits through joint statutory auditors

1. Taxation Strategy Creation

• Guide taxation policy on an organization wide scale to develop practice that is legally defensible and compliant to taxation laws and suggest corrective actions to address non-compliances
• Undertake effective tax planning by continuously monitoring taxation laws and simultaneously evaluating tax structure options available to the business and recommending design and implementation of the most optimized structure to minimize tax liability for the business

1. Tax Advisory & Litigation management

• Provide advisory to top management on tax implications of various business changes on a continuous basis to ensure no unwanted liabilities are created from tax perspective
• Interpret upcoming tax legislations and provisions and analyze implications on the business.
• Develop alternate assessments of taxation based on emerging and innovative practices in tax assessment and interpretation, leveraging amendments and changes to the taxation policy
• Ensure optimal tax litigation management through adequate insights from tax experts/consultants, competition practices, etc.

1. Investments

• Ensure accurate and timely trade execution and investment accounting
• Ensure timely coordination and compliances with respect to onboarding of brokers and counter parties
• Ensure investments related compliances including handling of concurrent and auditors

1. Payments management

• Monitor vendor payments being processed and manage escalations/ issues, if any to ensure payments are processed with minimum turnaround time, in alignment with requirements
• Manage vendors onboarding and integration in company systems and review the efficiency of payments processing systems at to identify improvement opportunities
• Drive automation and digitization of straight through/ manual processes to improve accuracy and minimize time spent on processing of payments
• Respond to auditor s queries related to payments (both employee and vendor) to provide appropriate reasoning

1. Stakeholder management

• Maintain relationship with various departments/ functions to seek justification for variances vs. budgets
• Engage with employees and vendors to resolve any issues/ escalation related to payments
• Build and maintain relationship with auditors to support in conduct of business audit and respond to any related query
• Leading automation projects to ensure seamless system integrations
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Engage with direct and indirect tax consultants to ensure thorough tax compliance.

1. Project and Automation

• Identify new technologies/initiatives that can be implemented for the organization from account, tax, etc perspective to enable company processes and systems are constantly updated

• End to end project management of all initiatives undertaken.

1. Team development

• Participate in recruitment process to identify right talent for various positions within the department
• Establish individual performance expectations and regularly review individual performance of the team

• Identify and create development opportunities for team members to enhance functional knowledge
