Accountant

We are a consulting firm of 20+ professionals based out of Kochi with a 13-year legacy behind us. We are currently looking for a B.Com/M.com graduate, with strong accounting knowledge, and is well versed in statutory compliances and preparation of MIS to work with us.

We are looking for candidates preferably with 4-5 years experience managing books of professional accounting/ audit/ consulting firms.

The responsibilities will include the following:

1. Recording the day-to-day transactions in the books of the entity maintained in accounting applications Tally/ QuickBooks/ RealBooks/ ZohoBooks/ Others
2. Management of the books of multiple small entities and the personal books of the promoter.
3. Liaison with counterparties to obtain bank statements, invoices, payment details etc.
4. Vouching of transactions
5. Performing regular bank reconciliations
6. Monthly book closure including accruals
7. Daily/ Weekly/ Monthly MIS reporting
8. Preparation of workings and filing of TDS, TCS, GST and SEZ returns. Liaison with statutory authorities should the need arise.
9. Liaison with statutory auditors at year end including preparation of draft financials.
10. Payroll related activities like master data management, leave records update, payroll processing and generation of draft payroll statements for review, circulation of final payroll files, preparation of PF, ESI, TDS, NPS, WWF , PT statements etc.
11. Follow up with customers for collections
12. Managing relationships with vendors.
13. Maintenance of all employee-related documents
14. Managing basic office administration at our Infopark office.
15. Managing payment cycles and making prompt payments to vendors
16. Provide adhoc reporting and details to promoters as requested.

Qualifications, skills, and competencies we are looking for:

1. Graduate or postgraduate in Accounting/ Commerce
2. Basic knowledge of all compliance related regulations (Income tax/ TDS/ GST/ Companies Act etc.)
3. Exposure especially in individual tax deductions under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act, is desirable.
4. Pleasing and amiable personality; Good communication skills in English.
5. Ability to work with a group
6. Good working knowledge of MS Office tools Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
7. Willingness to commit at least 2 years to the position.
