Slope Grinding - Technician

Role & responsibilities

• Operate and set up grinding machines or equipment to perform slope grinding on components. Ensure precise alignment and adjustment according to technical specifications and engineering drawings
• Conduct detailed inspections of components before and after grinding to verify that they meet required tolerances and quality standards. Use precision measurement tools to assess dimensions and surface finish
• Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment to ensure optimal performance. Clean and calibrate machines as needed and troubleshoot any mechanical issues or malfunctions
• Monitor grinding processes to maintain consistency and quality. Identify and rectify any deviations or defects in the components. Ensure adherence to production specifications and standards
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of grinding processes by identifying areas for enhancement. Provide feedback on equipment, techniques, and materials to improve efficiency and product quality
• Maintain accurate records of grinding operations, including parameters, measurements, and any issues encountered. Document process changes, maintenance activities, and quality control results
• Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols while operating grinding equipment. Ensure the work area is clean and organized to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
• Work closely with engineering, quality control, and production teams to ensure alignment on grinding requirements. Participate in meetings to discuss process improvements and address technical challenges
• Assist in training new team members on grinding techniques and equipment operation. Provide support and guidance on troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to grinding

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven experience in operating grinding machines, with specific knowledge of slope grinding techniques. Experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment is preferred
• Proficiency in using grinding equipment and understanding technical specifications, engineering drawings, and measurement tools. Ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical documents
• High level of accuracy in performing grinding tasks and inspecting components. Strong focus on maintaining quality standards and specifications
• Ability to analyse measurement data, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions. Problem-solving skills to address issues in grinding processes
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members. Ability to clearly document and explain technical information
• Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve issues related to grinding processes and equipment.
