Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst within the Reinsurance Security Department (RSD) will be assisting the Zurich and New Jersey teams in performing stand-alone credit risk assessments for Global Programs (Multinational Solutions) and Facultative reinsurance placements while also preparing monthly and quarterly management reports. Will assist in the management of credit risk mitigant instruments across the portfolio and help rate or monitor the external /insurer financial strength rating of AXA XL s counterparties.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

Support the assessment of stand-alone financial performance and creditworthiness of in/reinsurers obligors on Multinational Solutions and Facultative reinsurance placements across our portfolio.

Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on transaction referrals, collateral, securitization instruments, and other key RSD statistical metrics and trend analysis data.

Support and liaise with AXA Group Risk Management on the Short-Term Economic Capital (STEC) requirements for reinsurer credit risk and validate use of RSD internal ratings methodology framework.

Help gather external market intelligence sources and update AXA XL s database with current insurer financial strength ratings (IFSR) and policy shareholders surplus (PHS).

Assist in the quarterly aggregation and variance analysis of AXA XL s external reinsurance recoverable by business legal entity including key top reinsurers exhibits.

Prepare and participate in RSD training presentations to AXA XL underwriting community to support implementation of robust reinsurance security best practices and risk culture.

Support the Credit Security Officer on special ad-hoc projects within the Reinsurance Security Department.

You will report to the Credit Security Officer.

We re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred.

Relevant years of work experience in a financial role preferably from another insurer/reinsurer or a financial institution.

Detail-oriented team player with good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent English communication skills required. Other foreign languages a plus.

Comfortable in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.

Excellent IT skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Visual Basics. Python/SAS/SQL, and Secure GPT (Artificial Intelligence) a plus.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

Good understanding of IT (Power BI, Secure GPT, etc.) and data base programming skills.
