Junior Accountant

Objectives of this role

This position reports to the manager and supports the accounting department in carrying out the responsibilities of the department.

He/ She is involved in work that is specific to accounts receivable, accounts payable, data compilation, billing, and other accounting tasks. In some instances, he may work specifically with accruals, fixed assets accounting or the monthly and yearly finalization of accounts and typing of financial statements for audit purposes.

Responsibilities

• Recording business transactions into the accounting system.
• Recording sales and receivables transactions.
• Recording purchases and payables transactions.
• Performing bank reconciliations.
• Assisting in finalizing full set of accounts.
• Harnessing technology to gather and analyze data.
• Verify data to source records to validate accuracy.
• Ad hoc technical and administrative support.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Graduate/Post Graduate in Commerce/Business Administration.
• Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
• Superb time management skills and detail orientation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• 3-4 years of experience in Accounts.
• Experience with accounting software (preferably QuickBooks) and online platforms.
