SAP ABAP/Data Archiving/Decommissioning Consultant

Experience: Minimum 12 years of overall experience

• Must have 8+ years of SAP DVM and archiving experience.

• Must have 3+ years of SAP/Non-SAP system decommissioning experience with at least two successful decommissioning deliveries.

• Must have 4+ years of SAP ABAP development and hands on project experience.

Roles responsibilities:

• Analyze existing SAP landscapes to determine decommissioning requirements, identifying opportunities for system optimization and cost savings.

• Execute data archiving solutions, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring easy accessibility post-decommissioning.

• Proficiency in database management systems to handle large volumes of data during extraction, archiving, or migration.

• Develop and implement tailored decommissioning strategies, focusing on system shutdown, data extraction, and secure migration to archives or legacy systems.

• Ability to map data relationships and profiles within the system to identify what needs to be archived, retained, or deleted.

• Understanding of syntax conversion from source database to target database

• Proficiency in documentation tools and techniques to create comprehensive reports detailing the archived data, its location, and relevant metadata for future reference or audits.

• Ability to create new reports or enhancements based on client s requirements and SQL based reporting capabilities.

• Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, to ensure alignment of decommissioning and data archiving initiatives with business goals.

• Ability to design and enforce data archiving strategies, encompassing data classification, retention policies, and efficient storage solutions.

• At least lead two one end to end implementation of SAP Data Archiving project.

• Ability to conduct training/best practices for system decommissioning and knowledge share.

• Should be able to perform the necessary development required to convert the functional requirements into technical specs/designs to build a business solution.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Good to have :

• Knowledge and experience with Carveout a plus.

• Knowledge of custom archiving is a plus.

• Knowledge of BASIS, and any SAP functional module is a plus.

• Knowledge of Data aging in SAP HANA is a plus.

• Knowledge of archiving functional objects in HANA/CRM/BW/HR is a plus.
