Process Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Feasibility & Optimization in R&D:

• Collaborate with the R&D team to assess process feasibility, safety, and scalability.
• Provide technical inputs for process robustness, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct process optimization to improve yield, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Perform scale-up calculations and leverage PAT tools for process understanding.
• Participate in FMEA discussions and ensure process safety evaluations.

2. Safety & Compliance during Scale-Up Execution:

• Identify process hazards and recommend modifications for safe execution.
• Ensure proper design, equipment modifications, and safety measures at the plant.
• Conduct process safety audits and implement mitigation strategies.

3. Technology Transfer & Documentation:

• Prepare process engineering (PE) packages, including process flow diagrams, equipment selection, and safety documentation.
• Compile and review batch records, validation protocols, and trial reports.
• Support smooth knowledge transfer from R&D to manufacturing teams.

4. Batch Execution & Monitoring:

• Oversee batch execution at plant and kilo-lab facilities, ensuring facility preparedness.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, QA, QC, SCM, SHE, RA, Finance) for smooth execution.
• Address process-related troubleshooting, solvent recovery planning, and compliance.
• Conduct technical evaluations at vendor sites and support scale-up trials.

5. Post-Batch Activities & Cost Optimization:

• Prepare project closure reports and campaign cost sheets.
• Participate in cost improvement programs (CIP) to optimize goods costs.

6. Technical Training & Knowledge Sharing:

• Provide technical training and share expertise within the team.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and implement process improvements.

7. Process Engineering Input for Cost Estimation:

• Prepare process engineering input files (PEIF) for RFP responses.
• Collaborate with Business Development and R&D teams to determine cost estimations and timelines.
