Job Description
- Review and evaluate design submissions for accuracy, quality, and adherence to company standards (in projects product care)
- Ensure all designs meet regulatory and compliance requirements and provide input for the divisional Product Compliance Legislation Specialist on local legislation requirements
- Perform safety reviews and guide the project teams in performing DFMEA
- Organize and lead the design review meetings with the local design team, in all phases of the project, closely involving and aligning with the Divisional design reviewer
- Advise the PCM on project quality completeness
- Do regular communications with Divisional Design Reviewer regarding FQM/TCM points and emerging issues
- Be a CtP 2.0 champion and give support/guidance to local team
- Safeguard all quality processes in the local engineering team (PLM processes, release processes, TCM processes, root cause analysis, reporting, competence management, ) Make sure the local processes stay aligned with the divisional processes
Additional Responsibilities
- Keep close co-ordination and report to Principals for all Engineering issues.
- Follow and document the project s status as specified in NPD process.
- Take initiatives to control and reduce the VK new and existing products.
- Play an active role in reporting the status to management in India and Airpower
To succeed, you will need
Qualifications/Knowledge Work Experience:
- Mechanical Engineer with bachelor s degree in engineering from a reputed institution
- Effective leader with > 10 years of design and development experience on compressor parts and Air compressor.
- Technical knowledge on compressor, engine, cooler, electric panel is a must, including all related norms / regulations.
- In depth knowledge on Pneumatic and hydraulic system and concept designs
- Experience of FEA will be added advantage
- Able to write deep technical document for components
- Good understanding of the supplier fabrication processes, and of the Lean assembly concept, able to design according to manufacturing constrains, like with Poka-Yoke.
- Knowledge Quality concept (FMEA, MTBF ), and Safety requirements
- Fluent in English
- Use of IT tools like CAD, ERP (BPCS), MS-Excel, MS-Project, SharePoint
- Lean Engineering concept knowledge
- Sound project management experience
